Kory Enders Finishes 3rd and 4th at Circuit of The Americas For Immediate Release

October 23, 2018

Austin, Texas – October 23, 2018 – Kory Enders kept his podium streak alive by finishing 4th and 3rd during the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season finale at Circuit of The Americas over the weekend in support of the Formula One United States Grand Prix.

The biggest challenge foreseen by the 21-year-old was adapting to the wet weather that blanketed Austin the entire week leading up to track activities. Enders put his race craft to the test and ended up in the top three during the only practice session and qualifying 2nd for Race 1. Track conditions for Race 1 were dry and Enders took full advantage of his experience racing the 3.42-mile circuit. The native Texan held 2nd place for the majority of the race. The most exciting moment came after a restart from a full course yellow that put Enders three wide with Dakota Dickerson and DEForce teammate James Raven down the front straight and up into Turn 1. Enders made the move for first place by using the opportunity to pass at Turn 12, but the risk outweighed the reward and he fell back to 4th place to finish the race.

Race 2 took place on Sunday morning in support of the Formula One United States Grand Prix later that afternoon. Enders started from the 3rd spot on the grid, which was determined by his fastest lap from Race 1. There was some trouble on the start and Enders found himself back in 6th place. The #55 DEForce Racing machine fought back up to 4th place and on the last lap, one of the drivers in the top three crashed, allowing Enders to scoop up his spot on the podium finishing 3rd. The American will head to Mexico City next weekend, October 26-28th to compete in the Formula 4 FIA NACAM Championship with team Martiga in a Myagle-Ford 1.6 liter Turbo. Enders participated in this same event last year where he won all three races and is looking to repeat his success and keep his podium streak alive.
